Canadian wildfires felt in Northeastern U.S.

Wildfires in Canada are creating dangerous air quality conditions in several states in the Northeastern U.S. The smoke has moved south over New England, New York and New Jersey and officials are warning it could cause breathing issues, especially for people with underlying respiratory conditions. Dr. Neelu Tummala joined CBS News to talk about the situation. She is the co-director of the Climate and Health Institute at George Washington University and an ear, nose and throat physician.

Can internet use lower the risk of dementia?

Participants in a multi-year study who regularly used the internet had roughly half the risk of developing dementia in comparison to those who were not regularly online. More than 18,000 adults between the ages of 50 and 65 years old participated in the study. Virginia Chang, an associate professor at New York University's School of Global Public Health and one of the researchers behind the study, joined CBS News to talk about the results.
