Jeff Frost, LEED AP BD+C, H Sustainable Design | Architecture

With an eye towards advancing the adoption of green building practices in Arizona, Jeffery Frost co-founded a.k.a. Green with partner Mick Dalrymple in 2005. a.k.a. Green quickly became the highly recognized leader for sustainability and green building education and information in the valley. In 2008, a.k.a. Green launched a.k.a. Green Services which provides architectural design and consulting services to homeowners, contractors, developers, manufacturers and landlords looking to implement green building techniques, concepts and materials into their projects, products or businesses.

Mr. Frost has been an invited speaker to a wide range of groups including realtors, architects, developers, business leaders, business students, community colleges, universities, alumni associations, business chambers, and various expos and conferences. Topics have ranged from green building, sustainability, green products, ‘greenwashing’, certifications, indoor air quality, externalities & values, corporate responsibility, LEED MRc4, and climate change.

He is currently a Board Member of the Phoenix Green Chamber of Commerce and he is Assistant Director for the Center for Sustainable Solutions. At the CSS, he is Development coordinator for the eco+ Standards Committee which is tasked with creating comprehensive green business standards to provide tools and certification to businesses that define success as being profitable and environmentally and socially conscious. Jeff is also part-time faculty for the Ecosa Institute in Prescott, Arizona. He is a LEED-AP (since 2003) and was the second person in Arizona to earn the LEED-AP Homes certification.

Prior to starting a.k.a. Green, Jeff was project manager for Sol Source Architecture + Design specializing in alternative building techniques and energy efficient structures. This included project management for Three Rivers Eco-Builders which built a number of the projects Sol Source designed.

Frost began his career in Detroit, Michigan as a Project Manager and Designer. Before graduating with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Architecture from Lawrence Technological University, Jeff had already designed and built over 30 projects with Stucky-Vitale Architects. Attracted by the architectural possibilities suggested by an arid, desert climate, he moved to Phoenix and joined Salazar Associates as a Project Manager and Designer. Frost worked for Sol Source from 2001-2006 and is an AIA Member and LEED Accredited Professional and a LEED AP HOMES..
