SustainAZility is a grassroots movement to make the business of sustainability a central part of Arizona's economic future.

The vision is to position and proclaim Arizona as the Silicon Valley of Sustainability and to refocus environmental, sustainability and business professionals and legislators perceptions to look at sustainability as an exportable commodity and to position Arizona as mecca for sustainable business.

SustainAZility was first mentioned by [Derrick Mains http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Derrick_Mains) on the Triple Bottom Line Radio show on November 10th, 2010 (broadcast can be found here http://blog.greennurture.com/2010/11/who-wants-to-be-a-trillionaire-a-manifesto-for-sustainability-in-arizona/)

Originally the idea was titled the Trillion Dollar Challenge but quickly the name sustainAZility was adopted.

The first official meetup of professionals was held December 13th 2010 in Phoenix Arizona.
